On Sunday we walked through the Pound to Hill's Homestead which from the centre is 6.6k return. We started from our van, walked to the homestead and then to Wangara Lookouts which was approx. 8k return.

Monday we went for a drive and walk to Sacred Canyon and then to Stokes Lookout for lunch. Also went for a drive to Rawnsley Park Station Resort to have a look, noticed there was a walk to Rawnsley Bluff, had a look at the sign and decided not to go as it was a 5 hour walk and it was already afternoon.

HI Jewells and Tony, I knew you were going away, but I have to ask how do you find these places? Do you research before you go or just wing it????
ReplyDeleteGlad you are having a good time. Enjoy
We research before we go. We do get 4wd magazines and online emails. We have been up this way before to Wilpena Pound and only visited Blinman but this time we did the farm stay.

Oh you never said anything about that, just that you were going away. Well I will have to look at doing something similar. So how did you like the farm stay??? Sounds interesting. did you have to feed any animals, sheep, ducks, chickens????

Our plan was to go to Wilpena Pound where we have been before and we just looked on the internet for somewhere else near there. The farm is not that sort of a farm stay, it is a homestead where they have powered sites and cabins on their sheep station.
